The Ranch at Laguna Beach (Aliso Creek Resort) was closed to renovate 13 one and two-story Type 1 wood buildings for a total of 112 hotel guestrooms; some 2 story suites. Integrated with the building cluster is a Spa and Wellness Center. The Lodge Restaurant and Meeting Rooms were completely renovated.
Morris Skenderian is the Architect and is credited with the renderings for the renovation scope and Mark Christy of Laguna Beach Gold & Bungalow Village, LLC is the Owner.
The project required compliance with the California Administrative Code Title 24 Energy Code. The original buildings were heated only and as part of the scope split heat pump systems were incorporated in the hardscape to provide both heating and cooling for the renovated guestrooms. Plumbing fixture selection complied with CalGreen Standards for water conservation.
While the infrastructure was substantially re-used a new underground natural gas system was engineered as part of the Plumbing scope.
