The project is an affordable housing project developed by Highridge Costa Development Company and SRO Housing Corporation that will include one subterranean automobile parking level and 5 floors above grade capturing 65 apartment units. The heating and cooling system includes split system heat pumps. Outside air is drawn into each apartment by a ducted system suspended above the breezeway of each floor. Each apartment is fitted with a suspended fan that draws air directly into the suspended fan coil units. A central and recirculating domestic hot water system is piped to each apartment.
The 2021 AIA LA Residential Architecture Awards were judged by an international design jury from London, Milan, and Los Angeles. The Rise Apartments in the Affordable House category received its Citation Award. Congratulations to John Egan and his contribution to the affordable housing community.
